The Trusek team has been innovating in financial technology since 2005. We started by launching the world’s first Peer-to-Peer Currency Exchange, revolutionizing the way individuals could exchange currencies. Building on this success, we introduced a groundbreaking Card Scheme that enabled instant, cross-border, and cross-currency transfers.
In addition to developing cutting-edge software platforms, we also operated as an E-Money Institution in the UK, giving us firsthand experience and deep insights into the regulatory and operational requirements of the financial services industry.
In 2007, in partnership with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Uganda, the Commonwealth Business Council, and the Ugandan Government, we launched ZippCard a card-to-card transfer program aimed at improving financial inclusion for some of the world’s poorest communities.
Within the first year, 15,000 users joined the program, and its success laid the foundation for future growth.
Building on this momentum, we expanded our services to include a Point-of-Sale-based “Bank the Unbanked” initiative in Rwanda for the Bank of Kigali. Additionally, we provided software platforms, banking solutions, transaction processing, and operational support to over 40 UK-based money transfer operators (MTOs).
In February 2015, Trusek was formed as a dedicated technology company, allowing us to focus exclusively on developing cutting-edge financial software solutions.
Today, our clients include regulated financial service providers such as non-bank financial institutions, foreign exchange providers, lenders, payroll managers, and money remitters. We also support businesses in industries like travel, delivering seamless, unified multi-currency payment solutions.
In recent years, Trusek’s platform has processed over 1.5 million transactions, valued at more than $17 billion USD, underscoring our commitment to delivering reliable, scalable, and innovative financial services technology.
